So you have a great startup venture idea and now you have a nice shiny team profile on ibovo. Are you wondering, where are all the matching members?

There are many factors that determine the volume of matching members. But first, it's important to understand members are not matched with teams, members are matched with the roles you create for your team. This provides you a high degree of flexibility to structure a team comprised of members with the combination of skills, experience, interests and capital resources needed for success. So after creating a Team Profile, go ahead and create one or more roles on your team. You'll be able to see matching members corresponding to each team role, and of course members will be able to see your roles as well.

Now you've created your team roles, but maybe you're still not happy with the matching results. To further improve results, you should consider the content you entered in the team and role profiles. Since ibovo matches team roles to members, the number and quality of matches is directly related to the amount of information you provide in the team and role profiles. The more details you provide in the team and role profiles, the more matches you will receive (and the more members that will see your team roles as a match). Here's a few tips for modifying key fields to improve matches:

Team Profile

  • Team Description: the team description should explain the overall business or social venture opportunity. You may want to discuss the gap or need, size of the market, revenue potential, etc. While you may want to leave out details you feel are particularly sensitive, you should provide as much detail as possible in this section to capture the attention of other members.

  • Industry Tags: this is where you should list as many keywords and phrases as possible, relating to your venture idea. Separate each keyword and phrase by commas. List keywords individually and repeat them as part of related phrases (for example: coffee, shop, coffee shop, miami coffee shop)

  • Privacy Setting: ibovo recognizes the importance of confidentiality around some venture ideas, and therefore provides you with the ability to set privacy levels. Keep in mind, if you select 'maximum privacy', members will not have access to your team roles (even if the member is s strong match). Similarly, if you choose 'moderate privacy', the number of members who can see your team roles is significantly reduced. Selecting 'public' provides the greatest level of exposure for your team.

Role Profile

  • Industry Experience Tags: this is where you should list as many keywords and phrases as possible, relating to the skills and experience needed by the partner you are seeking for this role. Separate each keyword and phrase by commas. List keywords individually and repeat them as part of related phrases (for example: java, java programmer, developer, java developer, programmer, computer science, systems development, Internet developer, Internet development, Internet)

  • Location Preference: keep in mind, if you select 'Local' or 'Within Country' as the location preference, you are significantly reducing the number of matching members. You may want to consider changing this option to 'Anywhere' to increase the number of matching members.

  • Cash Investment: keep in mind, when you select 'Yes' for Cash Investment you are effectively eliminating all members who have not indicated willingness to contribute cash. You may consider lowering the cash investment value to increase the number of matching members.

Your Member Automatch results are constantly changing as new members join ibovo and members update their profile. So check back often for updated results.
